The Challenge

Telegram’s built-in TON wallet needed a UI/UX refresh that balanced crypto complexity with Telegram’s signature simplicity. Most crypto wallets overwhelm users with technical jargon, dense transaction histories, and intimidating interfaces that alienate non-technical users. The Telegram Wallet design contest challenged designers to reimagine the wallet experience for iOS and Android while respecting Telegram’s minimalist design philosophy and platform-specific conventions.

The Solution

Created a streamlined wallet interface that treats cryptocurrency like familiar messaging—clean, intuitive, and focused on essential actions. The design prioritizes three core functions: send, receive, and transaction history, presented with Telegram’s characteristic visual clarity. Platform-specific adaptations ensure the wallet feels native to iOS and Android, leveraging each OS’s design patterns while maintaining visual consistency with Telegram’s broader ecosystem.

Creative Approach

Applied Telegram’s design principles—generous whitespace, clear typography, purposeful color use—to crypto wallet UI. Transaction flows were simplified to mirror messaging interactions: sending crypto feels as natural as sending a message. Visual hierarchy guides users through complex actions without overwhelming them with options. The design uses subtle animations and micro-interactions to provide feedback without cluttering the interface, maintaining focus on content over chrome.

The Impact

The submission demonstrated that Web3 interfaces don’t need to compromise usability for functionality. By applying established UX principles from messaging apps to crypto wallets, the design showed how blockchain technology can become accessible to mainstream users. The contest entry showcased the ability to work within strict design constraints while solving complex interaction design problems—skills essential for product-focused design work.
